MG Architects Breaks Ground on Energy Corridor Studio

July 27, 2015 (Houston) MG Architects broke ground on Friday (7/24) for their new office building in the heart of the vibrant Energy Corridor District, and opened a portal to its next 75-years of innovation. The firm’s new two-level studio will be at 14333 Grisby Road, near the BP Campus just south and east of the intersection of I-10 West and HWY 6. The boutique design firm, which caters primarily to banks and financial institution needs, is growing and has expanded its capabilities to include a broader range of commercial architecture, planning, and sustainable designs including Class-A office space, retail, and medical office space.

“It’s the kind of development that comes along only once in 75-years,” said Scott Clanton, one of the principals in the firm. “This new facility will allow our group to collaborate more efficiently for our clientele, while providing a nurturing environment for creative juices to flow,” he said. Clanton, along with Eric Batte have been partners in the firm since 1998.

MG Architects was founded in Houston in 1938, establishing a reputation as a creator of beautiful, functional, and economical structures tailored for the unique needs of banks, savings and loans, and credit unions. The firm has completed over 1,100 projects for financial institutions around the country, and is the only Architect endorsed by the Independent Bankers Association of Texas. Funding for the project is being provided by Integrity Bank. The construction will be managed by Construction Masters of Houston, Inc.

Batte, Clanton, and the entire MG Architects staff converged on the new building site Friday morning armed with silver-bladed spades and a few pounds of elbow grease. After brief remarks by Clanton, the team sunk the blades into the turf, and turned the first few shovels of earth for the construction. The new studio is slated to open in January 2015.

Press Release: New name, same philosophy - McCleary German Architects is now MG Architects

McCLEARY GERMAN ARCHITECTS to maintain reputation for beauty, sustainability, and uncommon customer service as MG ARCHITECTS

September 17, 2013 (Houston, TX)—McCleary German Architects is celebrating its 75th anniversary with a transformation that reflects both pride in its history and a renewed vision for the future: McCleary German Architects is now MG Architects.

In 1938, McCleary German Architects founder Thompson McCleary set a standard for uncompromised excellence in design, a standard that thrived for more than three generations under the direction of Dale McCleary and Bill German. In 1998, the firm welcomed new owners and principals Eric Batte and Scott Clanton who continue the signature approach to excellence.

“While our brand is changing to reflect our ever-evolving suite of architectural design services, what isn’t changing at MG Architects is just as important,” says Mr. Batte. MG Architects continues to provide each of its clients with the expansive resources of a large firm, but also continue to enhance every project with direct, personal attention from project conception to completion.

Utilizing traditional architectural and design principles while incorporating state of the art technology, MG Architects has created innovative, thought-provoking, and highly efficient spaces for more than 1,100 free-standing bank projects, as well as multistory office, corporate interiors, and retail and graphics projects. All reflect MG Architects’ commitment to focused, one-on-one approach to client partnerships—a standard that remains constant, regardless of its name.

“We remain passionately committed to beautiful and sustainable architecture, intelligent and inspired project solutions, and uncommon service excellence,” adds Mr. Clanton. “And, like all of our projects, our client relationships are built to last.”

“MG Architects has repeatedly demonstrated their flexibility and willingness to listen and respond promptly,” attests Timothy N. Bryan, CEO, The Bank & Trust of Bryan/College Station. “I am confident that MG Architects will demonstrate the same value.... Once you work with them, you'll go back again and again.”

MG Architects is proud to be the sole architecture firm endorsed by The Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT), whose members have long entrusted their design needs to the firm’s enduring vision of excellence. Accordingly, MG Architects’ new identity will be revealed to this esteemed membership at the 39th Annual IBAT Convention, set for September 21 through 24, 2013 in San Antonio, Texas.
